The Cook Book celebrates the best of the food scene from Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, as well as other surrounding villages, to raise money for the charity Tree of Hope. With a stunning recipe and foreword by Kent-born Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr., this book tells the stories of the region’s best-loved chefs, restaurants and producers with over 60 recipes of their favourite dishes.
Contributors include Fuggles Beer Café who have been listed in the Good Beer Guide four years running, Gurkha Planet ran by award-winning chefs Dinesh Maharjan and Daya Ram Giri who bring international cuisines to the local Kent community and 2016 Great British Bake Off finalist Jane Beedle whose indulgent and scrumptious recipes are a delight for all the family to enjoy. These contributors alongside all the other amazing people featured in this book have come together to not only share their stories and recipes but to help the Kent-based charity Tree of Hope.
All profits from the sale of The Cook Book raises funds for Tree of Hope, a charity that provides treatment, therapy and equipment that is not freely available through the UK health system to seriously ill and disabled children. Based in Tonbridge, this charity truly transforms the lives of these children and their families and this book is one of many ventures to raise money for such a worthy cause.
