5 things to do with your mum on Mother’s Day

Hey friends! It’s been a few weeks since we’ve posted on our blog as we have been very busy but we’re back!

Mother’s day is fast approaching (27th March) and we thought we’d give you some lovely ideas of things you could do for/with your mum, or anyone in your life, to let them know you appreciate them.

Afternoon tea

Whether your mum drinks tea or fizz, afternoon tea is a sophisticated way to spend some quality time with your mum. Some great places for afternoon tea include Browns, Bettys and Patisserie Valerie, or if you’re local to Sheffield, like us, check out Jameson’s Tea Rooms on Abbeydale Road.

Spa Day

It’s tiring being a mum. How about going for a relaxing day at the spa? There are plenty of packages and treatments (some of which include afternoon tea, too!) that include massages, facials, manicures, saunas, etc. Some we recommend include Hellaby Hall, Losehill Spa, the Belfrey and the Bannatyne Spa.

Cook dinner

Would it be a Meze blog post if we didn’t mention cooking?! Mothering Sunday doesn’t always have to warrant a Sunday Roast! You could branch out and opt for something more adventurous like the Tamarind Prawn curry from the Chilli & Mint cookbook or Emma Oxley’s chicken, chorizo & rioja Spanish-style stew from the From Beder’s Kitchen cookbook. Although, if you did fancy something (slightly) more traditional you could try the Penrith peppered chicken and the parsnip and apple mash from the Food & Company cookbook. All of which are sure to have mouths watering!

Go for a shopping day

If you’re unsure what to get for your mum why not let her choose! If you’re feeling boujee why not head to Flannels or take a trip to the Bicester Village shopping outlet in Oxfordshire, but you could always head to a vintage antiques centre or even do a charity shop crawl!

Take a class

Classes can be a fun way to bond whilst learning something new that you can continue doing together! Why not look in your local area whether there are any classes for things like flower arranging, pottery, salsa dancing, cooking your favourite cuisine or a drawing class!

If you do any of these we would love to hear about it! Drop us a message on our Instagram or tag us in your stories! @mezepublishing
