The Manchester Cook Book sells out in record time

Our recently released Manchester Cook Book is a huge success having sold out in just two weeks! This is a record time for us here at Meze Publishing and we hope to keep it up with our upcoming regional cook books for Cheshire, Newcastle and Leicestershire & Rutland.

Manchester Cover

We also managed to out-sell Jamie Oliver’s ‘Everyday Super Food’, Nigel Slater’s ‘Year of Good Eating’ and Nigella Lawson’s ‘Simply Nigella’ in north west Waterstones – which were all selling at half price at the time.

For those of you who aren’t in the loop, The Manchester Cook Book features recipes, stories and anecdotes from the Manchester’s finest restaurants, cafés, delicatessens, pubs, producers and suppliers.

Food lovers are spoilt for choice by the numerous award-winning, fine dining restaurants and traditional country pubs that Manchester has to offer. Among the venues featured are The French, Slice Pizza, Brassica Grill, Teacup, Infamous Diner, Iberica, 63 Degrees, Trove and many, many more – readers will be sure to spot one or two of their favourite eateries, as well as find a few new haunts.

It features guest recipes from a few familiar faces such as local boy and Masterchef 2015 winner Simon Wood who has since quit his job and taken up a role as executive chef at Oldham Athletic

He says: “I’m very excited to be featured in the Manchester Cook Book alongside some pretty iconic Manchester chefs. My culinary journey is only just beginning but being a part of this book is a real privilege.”

Well-known TV chefs and stars of Restaurant Wars, Simon Rogan and Aiden Byrne also contribute to the book; they run a plethora of successful dining establishments between them.

Aiden has written the foreword for the book and is a big fan of the Manchester food scene.

“We have filled our restaurant pretty much each lunch and dinner since opening and that is credit to Manchester’s desire for a bloody good plate of food,” he said.

“The vibe in and around Manchester is electric, the sense of positivity is contagious and the number of restaurants that are opening is proof of this.”

With a carefully selected collection of diverse recipes achievable by all home cooks there is something to whet everybody’s appetite. It can also be used as somewhat of a guide to where to dine in Manchester.

Grab yourself a copy of this book if you haven’t already – it retails at just £14.95 and is available in all of the businesses featured in the book as well as select local gift shops, book shops including Waterstones and online at www.amazon.co.uk.
