Fancy a brew?

Like the majority of UK cities, Sheffield has embraced European cafe and coffee shop culture with open arms, so when it comes to cosy cafes and top-notch coffee, you’re spoilt for choice round ‘ere. Here are ten venues perfect for getting an early morning caffeine fix or whiling away lazy afternoons.

Steam Yard

Located on Division Street, Steam Yard brings you a taste of America, fitted with booths and offering the traditional all-American snack: coffee and a donut, you’ll be sure to enjoy dining cross-culturally.  The coffee’s certainly something to shout about too; using London’s Square Mile Coffee roasters, Steam Yard offers a delightful variety of high quality coffee. What’s more, there’s even a coffee and donut deal for just £3 – so they’re student-budget friendly too!

Found just a few minutes’ walk from Steam Yard, Tamper brings you Kiwi cuisine and culture in style. With everything from great coffee to the full Australian breakfast option, you’ll be sure to experience something tasty and new– plus, they even run a coffee tasting session with a different theme every month: a true haven for coffee lovers.

Upshot Espresso

Billed as Scandinavian-influenced with Yorkshire accents, Upshot Espresso seeks to offer coffee that is sustainable, traceable and finely roasted. Everything from traditional coffees to herbal infusions are available, and they even serve a delicious selection of Scandinavian food, making this a perfect lunch spot.

For a taste of Italy, look no further than Bragazzi’s – offering both a café and an award winning deli, this is the place to go for your fill of coffee, cake, sandwiches and beyond. Uniquely though, you won’t find a menu at Bragazzi’s – instead, all the ingredients are hand-picked on a daily basis, meaning no matter how often you visit you’ll always have the chance to try something new!

Forge Roasters

Situated on Don Road, Forge Roasters source green coffee from speciality farms and estates.  Their priority is to create a unique and first class taste experience, and they achieve this by carefully selecting and profiling single origin beans to enhance flavours to the max. Here, you will find coffee created with care.

The Grind Café

As an Eat Sheffield winner, The Grind’s popularity is no surprise – serving a delicious range of food and drink, this is the perfect place to come for a chilled lunch or breakfast (served all day on weekends). A real local gem, the Forge Bakehouse sources its ingredients locally, including northern roasted coffee by the North Star Coffee Roasters, so you’ll be sure to get a true taste of Yorkshire here.
